Air Chat is an app I built with a friend back in 2012. The idea was simple: let people message each other without a phone plan or an internet connection, by connecting devices directly to one another, for situations like a flight, a festival, or anywhere the signal drops out. Since its release it’s been downloaded over 3 million times.
Recently I came back to it for a full update: rebuilding it to modern standards for iOS 26, and bringing it to macOS and visionOS so the same conversations work across Apple’s platforms.
